Congratulations to Allie Dixon, who was selected as the winner of the Summer 2021 Sad Girls Club Poetry Contest! Allie Dixon is a writer with an MFA from Lesley University whose work deals mainly with systemic sexism and life's uncanny, unexplainable moments. Her work has been honored by Ploughshares and printed in SLAB Literary, PRISM International, and You Might Need to Hear This. Currently, she is living just outside of Boston finishing my memoir and freelance writing.
Allie's winning poem is titled ‘Outsider’. Make sure to check out her poetry which will be posted on the blog. Our 2nd and 3rd place winners are as follows:
2nd place, Chloé McMurray with her poem, Love Songafter Sexton
3rd place, Yume Kim with her poem, I’m a Terrible Poet
These poems will be posted on the blog tomorrow!
Thank you to all who entered poetry into the contest. There were a number of poems that stood out and many of them will be posted on the Sad Girls Club blog in the coming weeks. We would like to thank everyone who submitted poetry into the contest. We look forward to running more contests in the future and seeing more of your work. There was a fantastic selection of poems to choose from, making the task of judging this contest a challenging task! Just a reminder that the general submissions to the blog are still open in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. Click on the Submissions tab at the top of the page for more information.
