The biggest betrayal I ever met
I handled like an infant at the supermarket
wailing down aisles, bawling tears of denial
tearing down items from shelves,
kicking canned food displays over
just to watch something crash,
ripping open boxes and
dumping them on the floor,
pounding up donuts
until they turned into dust,
smashing up sushi to smear
it down someone’s shirt,
screeching in a splitting pitch
making sure everyone
knows my pain.
