In Which I Snip My Strings and Float Away - Marcia Vojcsik

There is peace in distance.

I discover why mountain climbers

are so impatient to be vertical.

That's why clouds are so chill all the goddamn time.

I let the voice become the words.

I hide between pressed pages

and riddle myself one deconstructed metaphor at a time.

I no longer wish to be caught.

See me just out of reach.

Don't blame you.

There were too many almosts.

He told me, "I don't see you settling down."

I will settle for nothing.

I've always been this kind of girl.

Marcia Vojcsik graduated with a BA in English Language from Flagler College with a focus on creative writing. Her work has appeared in the Flagler College online newspaper as well as in her hometown writing showcase in Stuart, FL. She continues to write poetry in between coffee sips in Houston, TX.
