Frayed | Susan M. Pendley

This is me—the frayed

thread that can’t see

itself but through

comparison of tangible

things.

I want to be the line that drives—

dives through the eye, threading the hole

without a snag.

Instead of that absence of knowing,

finding the fringes, only undefined edges;

trying to chase a feeling.

To name it.

To claim it,

let it weave into my being

and own it.

To say it.

The kintsugi—they call character

and know it’s ok to be patched,

the edges mismatched,

a new perspective,

the golden threads pieced together,

mended.
