Acts of Self-Hatred - Katie Ellen Bowers

My horoscope tells me that I may be

the cause of my own sadness, as if

I could change the way the Moon

pulls and pushes water from the shores;

I wax and wane just as she does.

Venus wants to ground me

into the land, so I cover myself

with soil and hope flowers sprout up,

while Jupiter tells me to try

and not commit any acts of self-hatred,

at least for today, as if

he can conquer the Moon.
